Cirrus expands to Japan

Cirrus Aircraft has established a center in Tokyo for sales, and will make it a Cirrus Service Center. Lotus Air Corp., also known as Cirrus Japan, will base its operations at Hirata Gakuen Kobe Air Center at Kobe Airport near Tokyo.

The grand opening of the facility was July 8. It can house 30 small aircraft and has an executive lounge for owners and pilots, and conference rooms.

“Japan has Asia’s largest economy, second in the world,” said Ian Bentley, vice president and managing director of international sales, “I am optimistic that the new Cirrus Japan team will demonstrate that general aviation has a major role to play in that region, as well as Japan.”

Vice President of Marketing Todd Simmons said, “Many regions of Japan are expanding, creating a need for an efficient means of transportation within the country. Cirrus is the perfect airplane for regional travel missions.”
