May 28, 2004 - Admit it, now. You've pictured yourself on the cover of AOPA Pilot magazine, haven't you? Well, when you visit the 14th annual AOPA Fly-In and Open House in Frederick, Md., you'll have that opportunity. AOPA's Publications Division will have a digital studio set up to make you the star of your own cover. It's just part of the fun on tap for Saturday, June 5, at what has become the biggest one-day event of its kind in the country.

Hundreds of aircraft and thousands of pilots and aviation enthusiasts are expected to visit AOPA's headquarters at Frederick Municipal Airport. More than 100 vendor exhibits, from souvenirs to the latest avionics, will fill the big-top tent behind the headquarters building, while more than 30 general aviation aircraft will be on display on the ramp out front. The best spot is reserved for the AOPA Win-A-Twin Sweepstakes grand prize, a better-than-new 1965 Piper Twin Comanche fresh from the avionics shop.

AOPA will present 11 hours of seminars on topics ranging from the humorous musings of Rod Machado to how to save your life in an aircraft accident.

Driving directions and arrival procedures are available online. The FAA will set up a temporary tower for the day, and the Leesburg Flight Service Station will have personnel on site to help with weather briefings and flight plans.

The 14th annual AOPA Fly-In and Open House begins at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 5, and runs until 5 p.m. It's free and open to all.
