To all concerned:

The Federal Aviation Administration has under consideration a proposal by the U.S. Air Force to delete and establish Military Operations Areas (MOA) in the vicinity of Townsend, Georgia.

In 1996, an airspace proposal for this designated, 96-ASO-11NR was withdrawn due to objections received during the public comment period. The Georgia Air National Guard has submitted a revised proposal that meets the air traffic requirements of the appropriate Air Traffic Control facilities.

There is existing special use airspace at this location, however operations are limited due to the amount of time these areas may be activated, this proposal would eliminate that restriction.

The operations for these areas differ little from those currently being conducted in the existing airspace, however, this proposal will provide real time activation for the airspace via dedicated direct communication lines between the controlling and using agencies, allow access to charted public use airports for IFR aircraft, and provide a full time advisory service for VFR aircraft transiting the area.

This proposal would delete the existing MOAs listed below:

  1. Ft. Stewart B1, B2, C1, C2
  2. Gator 1,2
  3. Quick Trust E,F,G, H, I, J, L, M, N

and replace them with the following areas that are internally realigned for more efficient training.

The Specifics of this proposal are as follows:

  1. Coastal 1 East MOA. GA. [New]
    1. Boundaries: Beginning at Lat. 31°51'00" N., Long. 81°20'45" W.; to
      Lat. 31°41'16" N., Long. 81°22'59" W.; to
      Lat. 31°37'31" N., Long. 81°28'14" W.; to
      Lat. 31°32'31" N., Long. 81°27'29" W.; to
      Lat. 31°26'16" N., Long. 81°31'29" W.; to
      Lat. 31°25'31" N., Long. 81°35'59" W., thence northwest along the Altamaha River to

      Excluding the airspace 1,500 feet AGL and below within a 3NM radius of Liberty County airport

    1. Boundaries: Beginning at Lat. 31°25'31" N., Long. 81°35'59" W.; thence northwest along the Altamaha River to Lat. 31°47'59" N., Long. 81°59'59" W.; to

      Lat. 31°19'59" N., Long. 81°53'16" W.; to
