Gulfstream Aerospace’s new G250, a super midsize business jet with 17 to 35 percent more floor area than any other jet in this category, had its rollout ceremony at Israel’s Ben Gurion International Airport on Oct. 5. The G250 was announced at the National Business Aviation Association convention in October 2008 and was developed in partnership with Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI). Customer deliveries are scheduled for 2011.
The extra interior space makes for a larger lavatory, an improved galley, and increased storage. The G250 has 19 windows, a vacuum toilet, and in-flight access to 120 cubic feet of usable volume in the baggage compartment. Speaking of the Gulfstream-IAI partnership, IAI Commercial Aircraft Group corporate Vice President and General Manager David Dagan said, “The collaboration between the manufacturing and design teams, using the integrated-product-teams approach, made one and one equal more than two.”
The G250 is designed to fly 3,400 nautical miles at 0.80 Mach, and has an initial cruise altitude of 41,000 feet and a maximum operating altitude of 45,000 feet.
