Survey seeks to gauge value of ‘Alaska Weather’

The availability of current, accurate weather information is critical to pilots’ go/no-go decisions. In order to help improve Alaska Weather, broadcast throughout the state over public television station KAKM, Matt Taraldsen, a former National Weather Service intern who worked at the Weather Service Forecast Office in Anchorage this summer, is conducting a short survey through St. Cloud State University in Minnesota.

Alaska Weather not only provides aviation and marine weather, but it also includes a 10-minute segment on aviation features such as Hangar Flying, hosted by the Alaskan Aviation Safety Foundation,” explained Tom George, AOPA Alaska Regional Representative. “Pilots should complete the survey and help the National Weather Service enhance this valuable aviation weather resource.” Take the survey.
