Aspen Avionics has received FAA certification for its full line of primary flight displays (PFDs), multi-function displays (MFDs), and weather receivers.
The Albuquerque, N.M., firm can now provide full glass-panel retrofits and new avionics installations for a broad range of general aviation aircraft. Prices range from about $9,500 for a single PFD to $20,995 for a complete, three-screen avionics suite (excluding installation).
“We will continue to provide innovative and affordable avionics solutions to the general aviation community,” said John Uczekai, Aspen president and chief executive. “Aspen customers have the ability to enhance situational awareness and increase safety even more.”
Aspen’s PFDs and MFDs are all based on the same hardware, so the company’s avionics products can be purchased individually and upgraded over time, or all at once. Aspen also has received FAA certification for an XM weather receiver (known as the EWR50) that sells for $2,495.
The full system has the capability to display weather, traffic, and terrain and contains dual attitude heading reference systems.
