If you need one little push to convince yourself—or your spouse—that this is the year to attend the number-one aviation convention of the year, here it is. AOPA’s Aviation Summit takes place in Tampa November 5 through 7 and the city is opening its arms to welcome AOPA members, aviation industry leaders, and any one who knows what its like to look up in wonder at the miracle that is aviation. In addition to AOPA’s usual wealth of aviation knowledge through seminars and speakers, Aviation Summit has offerings never before seen at an aviation convention. Plus Tampa is a southern city truly worth experiencing. Watch this online video to see what’s in store.

Dr. David Nichols knows the value of GA. For more than three decades he has been flying to the tiny island of Tangier off the coast of Virginia to provide health care to the island’s 600 residents. Nichols originally started serving the island by flying in his Cessna Skylane and now flies his Robinson R44 helicopter to the island. Spend a day with the doctor in this online video.

We didn’t start out planning to super-equip the already pristine Cirrus SR22 donated by J. Lloyd Huck for our 2009 sweepstakes, but the temptation to trick out our Let’s Go Flying airplane couldn’t be resisted, especially when this safety opportunity presented itself. Lancaster Avionics installed the Forward Vision EVS-100 Enhanced Vision System with an infrared camera on the sweepstakes aircraft and its benefits are obvious. See how it works in this online video.
