Aviation consulting firm Conklin and de Decker has come out with its 2010 State Tax Guide for General Aviation. The guide contains the latest taxes and fees imposed on GA aircraft in all 50 of the United States, and includes the sales and use taxes applicable to aircraft sales, ownership, leases, parts, and labor.
The guide is PC-based and has the ability to compare three states side by side. This lets users quickly compare tax rates and exemptions for many locations at a glance.
In 2009, several states implemented tax law changes that affect GA; more can be expected in 2010. Because state legislatures are in session for only a few months a year, tax changes can occur rapidly. Users of the state tax guide can stay up to date on any changes by regularly checking for updates via the guide’s software.
“We do the research for you and make it easy to access,” said Nel Stubbs, vice president for Conklin and de Decker.
A one-year subscription is $300. It’s downloadable from the Conklin and de Decker Web site, and includes downloadable updates throughout the year.
