Frustrated with the hassles of filing eAPIS (electronic advance passenger information system) manifests? The U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Customs and Border Protection division requires pilots to file these manifests—over the Internet—each time you depart from or return to the United States. Those who don’t face fines, or worse.
General aviation guided tour operator Air Journey now offers a service that files your outbound and inbound eAPIS manifests for you. For $99 per year, you access Air Journey’s “Easy Air Journey” Internet application, and then create, save, and/or modify your user profiles. The application saves your past manifests and travel destinations, and lets you create the Bahamian C7 and C7A general declarations in advance of your flight. These services, plus those for trips to Mexico, are available in Spanish.
With a customer’s approval, Air Journey can even file eAPIS manifests on your behalf. For example, in the event you don’t have Internet access at a remote location, or you change your planned date or time of departure or arrival, you can call Air Journey and empower them to file your manifests.
