Business aviation gets down to business

When it comes to getting the job done, aircraft can be a true asset for businesses. Flying for business not only saves time and money but allows more flexibility than the airline schedules. Learn how to leverage aircraft for your business during AOPA Aviation Summit, Nov. 11 through 13 in Long Beach, Calif.

In conjunction with the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA), AOPA has created a light business aviation (LBA) track for this year’s Summit that will cover everything from reimbursement policies and insurance to safety.

NBAA’s Mike Nichols will kick off the forum track Nov. 11 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. with “How to Use General Aviation for Business Purposes.” Nichols will discuss the options available for using aircraft as business tools, as well as the proven benefits they can bring. Later that day, learn tips from the tax professionals in “Tax Benefits of Aircraft Ownership” from 3:30 to 5 p.m. with the Advocate Consulting Legal Group.

On Nov. 12, the AOPA Insurance Agency and Phoenix Insurance will unite on an “Insurance Panel” to walk you through how to ensure that you have the proper insurance for your business aircraft, discuss the risks associated with aircraft ownership and operations, and offer tips for the owner-flown market. After getting your insurance questions answered during the forum from 10 to 11:30 a.m., get your legal questions answered by AOPA Counsel Kathy Yodice from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Yodice will present a clear roadmap for when a pilot can accept reimbursement.

Thinking about moving up to a turbine aircraft to meet your business needs? Don’t miss “Single Pilot: Safely,” which will have an emphasis on turbines operations, from 10 to 11:00 a.m. Nov. 13. From 2 to 3 p.m. that day, see the final LBA track offering “Moving Up to a Turbine Aircraft”.

The LBA track will offer practical tips and advice for all those involved in business aviation, whether you’ve been using aircraft as a business tool for years or are just considering branching into it. Register for Summit today, and check out the forums to plan your schedule. —AOPA ePublishing staff
