Recognizing the growing use of iPads in the cockpit, aviation mobile application company ForeFlight has announced new group pricing plans that allow operators to order ForeFlight HD subscriptions for up to 100 devices.
ForeFlight HD, the company’s flagship product, provides “Preflight Intelligence”: weather maps, charts, approach plates, taxi diagrams, flight plan filing capability, and more. The new pricing plans include subscriptions for between five and 100 concurrent users.
“Individual pilots, flying clubs, flight schools, corporate flight departments, government agencies, charter operators, and major airlines are adopting tablet computers, such as the iPad, at an eye-opening rate,” said Tyson Weihs, co-founder of ForeFlight. “It was clear that in order to keep up with customer demand, we needed two additional things: simple pricing for a single pilot or plane carrying two devices, and simple pricing and management for multi-user ForeFlight subscriptions.” He said the new system allows customers to start with a five-device plan and easily upgrade to a 10- or 20-device plan online.
ForeFlight also offers the AOPA Airports app for the iPhone and iPod touch.
