Aviation Education Expo to show students a passion for flight

ProJet Aviation and AOPA have partnered to offer the fifth annual Aviation Education Expo for high school and college students on Oct. 22.

The expo, designed to cultivate the passion for flight among high school and college students, will take place in the ProJet hangar at Leesburg Executive Airport from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Reservations are required for entry to the event and are available through ProJet by e-mail.

Also partnering with ProJet Aviation and AOPA are FlightSafety International, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and The Hoxton Agency Inc.

Speakers will include Chief Flight Instructor for the Air Safety Institute J.J. Greenway, young entrepreneur and motivational speaker Jamail Larkins, representatives from the Coast Guard, and air traffic control support manager Suzanne Gould from Ronald Reagan National Airport. AOPA will also provide its flight simulator.

ProJet has confirmed a number of aircraft for its static display, including a Cessna 172, Cessna Corvalis, Robinson helicopter, Cirrus SR22, King Air 300, Sikorsky S-76, and more.

The following day, Leesburg Executive will host an airport open house.

The Aviation Education Expo includes lunch for students and exhibitors. Students should arrive by 9 a.m. for registration. ProJet is taking seat reservations until Oct. 13. Call or e-mail Julie O'Brien, director of marketing, at 703/889-8558.
