Holiday store to benefit Build A Plane projects

Build A Plane, the organization that promotes aviation and aerospace education, invites you to find the perfect pilot holiday gift by shopping at its new online store. Items currently available on the eBay site include an opportunity to fly Build A Plane’s flagship Glasair Sportsman with its founder, Lyn Freeman.

Items will be added to the site throughout the season. The selection will include tropical vacations and VIP passes to EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wis. Donors include AOPA, Aircraft Spruce, the Experimental Aircraft Association, Garmin, Honeywell, JPI, Lightspeed, and the National Business Aviation Association.

All proceeds will benefit Build A Plane’s activities. The nonprofit provides aircraft projects to schools so that students can rebuild and refurbish them, helping them to learn science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, and jumpstarting a strong interest in aviation and aerospace. The organization also offers online high school courses pertaining to aviation as well as an educator’s network with a variety of additional resources.
