The popular Internet-based pilot shop Marv Golden Pilot Supplies said this week it launched a new website. Marvgolden.com, which claims to be the first pilot shop to sell on the Internet, has been updated with many new features.
In addition to many resources that shoppers have come to expect, such as the ability to sort by name, price, color, size, and manufacturer, the site now also has many pilot-centric features. The most unique and creative is the ability to search for items based on pilot certificate level. Choose CFI, for example, and the options change to include flight instructor books, test prep for students, and other categories that are common among certificate holders, such as headsets.
The website also features buyer’s guides for headsets, handheld transceivers, flight bags, chart cases, and GPS units. The buyer’s guides are part of a buyer education section that includes an extensive section of frequently asked questions and an aviation glossary. Both are great resources for student pilots.
Finally, the website offers the ability to search by “fit.” Instead of having to search through hundreds of cords or protective cases, users can search based on their unit. It works for GPS and handheld transceivers.
