The FAA, responding to several airspace incidents, including two near mid-air collisions over Midland International Airport in Texas, has set an Aug. 2 safety meeting to open a dialogue between controllers and pilots to discuss modified ATC operating procedures and address safety concerns.
AOPA will participate in the meetings and is requesting that members share their views with the association about the new procedures in effect in Midland.
The meeting, which will give pilots and controllers a chance to discuss safety, is scheduled for Aug. 2 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Midland International Airport terminal’s media room on the third floor.
