The FAA has scheduled three informational meetings for Aug. 18, 23, and 25 on a proposal to modify the Class B airspace centered on McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas, Nev.

Proposed changes include raising the ceiling of Class B airspace to 10,000 feet msl from the established ceiling of 9,000 feet msl. Class B airspace boundaries would be expanded to the west, south, and east, with lower floors proposed in many sectors.

AOPA will review the proposal’s impact on general aviation and submit formal comments on the design.

All informational meetings will be from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. They will take place Aug. 18 at Centennial High School, 10200 Centennial Parkway, Las Vegas, Nev., 89149; Aug. 23 at Coronado High School, 1001 Coronado Center Dr., Henderson, Nev., 89052; and Aug. 25 at Shadow Ridge High School, 5050 Brent Lane, Las Vegas, Nev., 89131.

Please submit comments on the airspace plan by Oct. 10 in triplicate to John Warner, Manager, Operations Support Group, Western Service Center, Air Traffic Organization, Federal Aviation Administration, 1601 Lind Ave SW, Renton, WA. 98057. Please share your comments with AOPA.
