Garmin and Jeppesen are offering a new bundle pricing program for databases on selected Garmin panel-mounted avionics.
Olathe, Kan.-based Garmin said the program, called PilotPak, “provides a more affordable single aircraft pricing structure and simplifies the database purchase process by offering a one-stop shop experience.”
For one annual price, Garmin said, PilotPak provides all the databases within the selected package to be used with any avionics combination of GTN, G600, G500, G500H, and G3X installed in one aircraft. Every bundle option also includes Garmin’s SafeTaxi, Obstacle, Terrain, and Airport Directory.
Bundle option selections include Jeppesen NavData, Jeppesen JeppView, and/or Garmin FliteCharts.
Garmin estimated savings on databases of 20 percent for a PilotPak Standard Americas subscription for a single GTN, or 60 percent with the inclusion of a G500 glass cockpit, compared to purchasing annual subscriptions for each database. With Garmin’s FliteCharts included, savings on databases for a single GTN 750 exceed 30 percent; when combined with a G500, savings come to more than 70 percent.
Databases have been bundled into several packages. The Lite, Standard, and Standard with Garmin FliteCharts PilotPak options are available from Garmin’s website. The Standard and Standard with Jeppesen JeppView options are available at Jeppesen’s website.
“Garmin and Jeppesen are continuing to make it easier and more affordable for pilots to keep their aviation databases up to date,” said Gary Kelley, Garmin vice president of marketing.
