Aviation show planned for South Carolina

The Greenville Downtown Airport (GMU) will host the Southeast Aviation Show on Oct. 29, sponsored by the South Carolina Aviation Association (SCAA). It will include aviation products, a static aircraft display, and educational sessions. The event is open to the public and costs $5.

“For 28 years, the Northwest area of the United States has had an aviation conference and trade show that attracts more than 10,000 people a year,” said show official Eric Ramsdell. “The SCAA wants to provide a show for aviation enthusiasts in our region,” Ramsdell said.

“The aviation community in the Southeast is very strong and we expect a great turnout for the first show,” said Joe Frasher, GMU's airport director. “If it takes off, as planned, we'd love to grow the event each year,” he said. “GMU is within walking distance of the Carolina First Center, which is a huge conference center and in the future we would love to have the Southeast Aviation Show grow into that facility,” Frasher added.
