The demands of flying in instrument meteorological conditions require instrument-rated pilots to maintain not only their currency but their proficiency as well. The IMC Club International will be hosting its IFR Proficiency Center at EAA AirVenture for instrument-rated pilots of all levels.
At 28 chapters across the United States—and one in Botswana—members of the IMC Club gather monthly to discuss IFR operations and use real-world scenarios to hone aeronautical decision-making skills. The club is offering three sessions during AirVenture to give pilots a glimpse of the organization and help improve their safety.
Sponsored by the General Aviation Manufacturer’s Association, the IFR Proficiency Center will run from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. on July 23, 25, and 27 in the AirVenture Welcome Center in Oshkosh, Wis. Each session of “hangar flying and mentoring” will be introduced by a member of the National Transportation Safety Board.
