A special paint scheme is one of the features designed to set Flight Design’s Jubilee models apart.
Flight Design is celebrating 25 years of making light airplanes with a limited edition of 25 aircraft, modified versions of standard models that come with a special paint scheme and equipment list. The “Jubilee” models will be available while supplies last, and their construction will be personally supervised by senior managers, referred to as “Godfathers” in the company’s announcement.
“These will be very special airplanes,” said John Gilmore, Flight Design’s U.S. sales manager.
The Jubilee aircraft will feature a two-tone leather interior, a Rotax 912iS engine, and Dynon SkyView avionics. Specific equipment packages can be customized for each aircraft. The company plans to produce five of these aircraft each month from February to June of 2013, and Gilmore expects the majority will be sold in the U.S., though sales will be first-come, first-served on a worldwide basis.
Flight Design, based in Germany, is a leading manufacturer of light sport aircraft for the U.S. market.
