As you get ready to take off for Palm Springs, Calif., for AOPA Aviation Summit, don’t leave someone behind just because the person doesn’t fly. Lots of activities will keep your guest entertained while you check out the latest products and services in the exhibit hall, brush up on your skills in one of our interactive seminars, or log some time in a new aircraft.
Pilots and nonpilots alike can pack their blue suede shoes and kick off their Summit experience the evening of Oct. 10 at the Forever Marilyn Park with a free Elvis tribute concert, complete with reserved seating for Summit attendees. Thursday, Oct. 11, offers a companion lunch at the Spa Resort and Casino where they can meet new friends, sign up for a one-of-a-kind tour of Palm Springs for Friday, and learn how to beat the dealers at some of Palm Springs’ casino games. In the evening, stroll the streets of downtown Palm Springs at the Villagefest. Here, you will have a chance to scope out the local art and fare while taking in the picturesque mountain views.
Summit’s evening social events are great for anyone. You can rock your resort wear poolside at the beautiful Renaissance pool on Oct. 12 or take a jeep tour on the San Andreas fault line on Oct. 13. Getting there won’t be a problem either: Summit offers more transportation than ever before, including additional shuttles to and from the convention center each morning from three convenient stops, shuttles to and from social events, and shuttles from Oct. 10 through 14 to and from our host GA airports. See the transportation schedule.
With all of these exciting events and discounts on retail, spas, and restaurants, and amenities to suit every guest’s needs, why wouldn’t you bring a nonpilot along to be part of your aviation experience? After this trip, they won’t want to miss another Summit.
