The public—flying and non-flying alike—certainly seems just as beguiled today with the idea of a flying car as it was when your grandfather earned his plane-spotting credentials by pointing out DC-3s and Lockheed Constellations overhead. The concept of a car equally comfy on an airway and a highway was causing considerable camera clicking at EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wis., where the “roadable” Terrafugia Transition drove in, unfolded its wings, and flew.
