Sneak peek at new AOPA website

Be a beta tester to alert AOPA of glitches

Be one of the first to see AOPA’s new website and help us give it a thorough preflight as a beta tester before we launch. This will give you the opportunity to get acquainted with the new design, navigation, and search capability. Your valuable feedback will help us correct major glitches in the new website before it goes live.

Because you will be viewing a beta test site, there are a few things to keep in mind. For the best user experience, please use Internet Explorer 9 or later, or the latest version of Firefox or Chrome to enter the beta site, and then press “CTRL” and “F5” to ensure the beta site loads correctly. Be patient as you navigate the site because performance may be slow in the beta environment.

Design limitations in beta AOPA.org

  • Online forms and applications, including those to join, renew, or manage your membership, will not yet have the new design.
  • Some content deeper in the site may not have the new design or appear properly in the new design.

Functionality limitations in beta AOPA.org

  • Redirects to your existing bookmarks will not work.
  • The new search tool may not return results for content that is not within the beta site, such as blogs, AOPA Airports data, and content on the Flight Training website.
  • Social media share buttons will not work.
  • You cannot create a new calendar of events listing in the beta site. If you want to create a new calendar item, return to AOPA.org.

When the new website launches, each of these design and functionality limitations will be corrected and appear and perform normally. Bookmarks, search, social media share features, and the new calendar of events will work seamlessly when the new website launches.

If you encounter one of the design or functionality limitations listed, you do not need to report it to us. They are limitations unique to the beta environment.

Glitches beta testers should report

Your feedback on the new website is very important to us. While we have been scouring the site, we know you may find some problem areas as you navigate to your favorite or most-used pages in the site. As you experience glitches, please send a note to us via the Contact Us form. Here are some examples of items we would like for you to report.

  • Broken links
  • 404—Web page not found errors
  • Pages with formatting issues or missing images and text

To report a glitch or provide other feedback on the beta website, please use the Contact Us form. Include the browser and version you were using; the type of computer, tablet, or mobile device; the URL or link of the page that you were on that contained a broken link, formatting issue, or missing image or text; the URL or link of the page that you were on before you received the “Web page not found” error, and note the link that you clicked when you received the error.

Although we may not be able to personally respond to your email, know that our dedicated website and information-and-technology teams are reviewing every single piece of feedback and will work to address all issues before and shortly after the launch of the new site.

We understand that the website is an important member benefit to you, and we want to make the transition to our new design and technology platform as painless as possible. This switch will enable you to access the site easily from your mobile device, find content easier with better website navigation and search functionality, and more. Plus, it will allow us to roll out new interactive online features in the coming weeks and months, including the ability to comment on articles, a Q-and-A board, and an upgraded AOPA Forums platform.
