One week before the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, an organization was formed that took the collective spirit of America’s civilian pilots and put it to work in support of education, mentorship, and service.

The Civil Air Patrol continues that tradition today as the civilian auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force, with a robust cadet program and extensive search and rescue operations.

CAP owns the largest fleet of single-engine piston aircraft in the world, which means you’ll have plenty of opportunity to fly. Members have the opportunity to fly at a significantly reduced rate, or even free, depending on the situation. As a primary mission of CAP, members also have the opportunity to mentor and inspire a younger generation toward aerospace and military service.
