Santa Barbara Business College offers aviation degree

Santa Barbara Business College is offering a new accredited associate of science degree in aviation through its Ventura, California, campus.

Classes will be offered at the college’s Aviation Pilot Education Center at Camarillo Airport. Flight training is conducted through a partnership with Channel Islands Aviation. The flight school will provide Cessna 172s and a Beechcraft Duchess for multiengine training.

Students who complete the program will have theory and flight time required to obtain a private pilot certificate, instrument rating, commercial certificate for both single- and multiengine, certificated flight instructor, certificated flight instructor instrument, and multiengine instructor.

“As an avid pilot myself, I am excited for our students to receive an aviation degree with flight training right here locally,” SBBC President Matthew Johnston said in a news release. “This opportunity to partner with Channel Islands Aviation will not only help our students, but will also help the aviation industry.”

More information on the degree program is available on the SBBC website.
