An Arizona pilot is headed to Alaska to earn his seaplane rating, courtesy of King Schools. Blake Godfrey, a flight instructor who recently landed an airline job, has also landed a prize package that includes training for a seaplane rating and bush flying vacation at Alaska Floats and Skis in Talkeetna, Alaska. Godfrey, the winner of the King Schools Alaska Seaplane Rating Sweepstakes, also collects a King Get-It-All Kit and $1,000 to spend during his all-expenses-paid vacation.

Godfrey, in a King Schools news release, called the sweepstakes win a “dream come true,” noting King Schools products have helped him throughout his aviation training.

“We can’t imagine a better winner,” John King said in the press release. “Blake loves learning new things about flying.”

Godfrey and a guest of his choice will head to the renowned float (and ski) operator located near Mount McKinley, which notes on its website that “it is not uncommon to stop and catch a trout durng our flight training, or see moose and grizzly bears on the river.”

For the rest of us, Alaska Floats and Skis offers a variety of training packages that include lodging.
