After watching 14 Red Bull Air Race pilots race through pylons at speeds up to 230 knots in the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, celebrate the end of the action-packed season with them during a special AOPA-member tour. Directly after the race finale Oct. 18, when the overall season world champion will be crowned, members will be able to talk to the pilots and tour the facility.

Members should meet at the designated location shown on the map below at 3:55 p.m. local time and show their AOPA membership card, according to Red Bull Air Race officials.

About 25 AOPA members who participated in the tour after the Fort Worth, Texas, race Sept. 27 “were amazed and eager to speak directly to pilots,” one Red Bull Air Race official said, adding that many brought their children along on the tour. (AOPA members can bring their friends and family on the tour.)

AOPA members planning to attend the world championship at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway Oct. 17 and 18 can purchase their tickets through AOPA’s Web page to receive a 10-percent discount. Members attending also are encouraged to RSVP to Red Bull Air Race's Matthew Blum with their name and the number of people they will be bringing with them on the tour.
