AOPA at work in Alaska

AOPA works for members at the state and local level across the United States. Catch up on what the association has done for you recently in Alaska.

AOPA has been encouraging members in Alaska to volunteer as beta testers for an improved mobile app designed to make it easier for pilots to access data from the FAA Aviation Weather Camera Program. The program uses more than 220 cameras around the state to help pilots, flight service personnel, and National Weather Service forecaster determine whether it is safe to fly. During daylight hours, the program allows users to see the weather within the past 10 minutes. The weather camera website also includes helpful information such as METARS, TAFs, and pilot reports.
