For more than 20 years, a signature highlight of joining the world’s largest general aviation organization—AOPA—has been the chance to win an airplane. The association has given away everything from a Waco biplane to a Beechcraft Debonair traveler, a Remos Light Sport aircraft to a Piper Twin Comanche. And you could be the next lucky winner.
The newest sweepstakes is a chance to win a refurbished Piper Super Cub—or any one of 70 other great prizes including pilot gear, jackets, flight bags, watches, and even a drone. The AOPA Sweepstakes Super Cub is a 1954 model that is being refurbished by Baker Air Service in Baker, Montana. A new panel, new avionics, new propeller, and more will complete the aircraft, which will be equipped with three types of landing gear: conventional gear, hydraulic skis, and amphibious floats.
Members can follow the Super Cub refurbishment in AOPA’s monthly magazines AOPA Pilot and Flight Training, and online. See the website for rules and updates on the restoration that will bring a classic airplane back to life. Will you win an aircraft or other prizes? With benefits of membership such as advocacy on behalf of your freedom to fly, a monthly magazine subscription, flight planning resources, and more, you’re a winner no matter what happens.
