Remanufacturing history
Take one of aviation history's most versatile airplanes and remanufacture it with more power and performance. What you get—whether you're planning a cloud-seeding flight, conducting drug interdiction, dropping smoke jumpers, or operating in the Antarctic—is a BT–67, a turboprop conversion of the Douglas DC–3 by Basler Turbo Conversions of Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The airplane pictured here is Basler's sixty-fourth conversion, outfitted with skis and the large antenna array seen between the main wheels to study ice depths and changes in Antarctica, said Matt Hauck, Basler's director of maintenance and production. Final Exam
Question

Do the regulations specify a maximum age for obtaining a pilot certificate?
Answer
No. A pilot must be healthy enough either to self-certify for a sport pilot certificate or to pass the third class medical exam for a recreational or private pilot certificate, but there is no maximum age for obtaining a pilot certificate.

This question and answer were provided by the aviation experts in AOPA's Pilot Information Center. Did you know that student pilots who join AOPA are three times more likely to complete their flight training? Membership includes unlimited access to aviation information by phone (800-USA-AOPA, weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern time) or from AOPA Online.
