A Pilatus preview
A Pilatus preview
If the five-bladed propeller and altitudinous T-tail don't tip you off that a Pilatus PC–12-family turboprop has arrived, check its ramp presence against nearby aircraft. The 14-foot-6-inch-high tail is 5 feet taller than the flight school Cessna 182s parked alongside—and the turboprop is 18 feet longer. Spotting secret: A PC–12 with a large cargo door in addition to the passenger door, and pressurized-cabin windows that appear somewhat larger (10 percent) than those on other PC–12s identifies the visitor as a new PC–12 NGX, coming soon to a ramp near you. Final Exam
Question

I am preparing my student for a commercial pilot practical test, and it appears he can take it with a third class medical. Is that correct?
Answer
Yes. An applicant for a commercial pilot certificate can take a practical test while holding any class of medical certificate, or under BasicMed; however, a pilot must have at least a second class medical to exercise the privileges of a commercial pilot certificate.
