Final Exam
Question

I need to fly to a Class C airport in an airplane that is not equipped with ADS-B Out. How can I note on the FAA's ADS-B Deviation Authorization Preflight Tool (ADAPT) website that the flight is for 10 days from today?
Answer
It is too early to make the request. The ADAPT website, where you can request authorization to fly in ADS-B rule airspace without the installed equipment, must be used only 24 hours before—and not less than one hour before—the proposed flight. So you must wait until you are within 24 hours of your estimated time of departure.

This question and answer were provided by the aviation experts in AOPA's Pilot Information Center. Did you know that student pilots who join AOPA are three times more likely to complete their flight training? Membership includes unlimited access to aviation information by phone (800-USA-AOPA, weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern time) or from AOPA Online.
