iFlightPlanner for AOPA can send plans to your EFB

Latest upgrade responds to members' requests

One of the most-requested features of iFlightPlanner for AOPA—the ability to send flight plans from the online planner to an electronic flight bag—is now available.

The July 21 update allows pilots with iFlightPlanner Core or Premium memberships to send flight plans from iFlightPlanner for AOPA to ForeFlight, Garmin Pilot, FlyQ, FltPlan Go, Jeppesen FliteDeck Pro and Jeppesen Mobile FliteDeck, and WingX via the iFlightPlanner for iPad and iPhone apps.

“Right now, iFlightPlanner for AOPA can send flight plans to popular iOS EFBs, and we are reaching out to Android EFB developers to work on similar integrations,” said Eric Rush, AOPA director of IT product development.

Other improvements include the ability to:

  • Set preferred time formats and automatically calculate departure times in local or Zulu.
  • Seamlessly upgrade to iFlightPlanner Core or Premium within iFlightPlanner for AOPA and access enhanced feature sets, including iFlightPlanner for iPad and iPhone for in-flight reference, GPS moving map, and more.
  • Select FAA Caribbean VFR sectional charts on the sectional chart layer.

“We are constantly looking for ways to improve this AOPA member benefit, and we listened to you to determine which upgrades to pursue first,” Rush said. “We are excited to offer the popular functionality to send a flight plan to an EFB, and we’ll be making more upgrades in the future to better meet your needs.”
