Final Exam
Question

I don't know why this stumps me every time, but with daylight saving time starting this Sunday, what is the time differential between local time in Pennsylvania and Zulu time?
Answer
During standard time, the Eastern time zone is five hours behind Coordinated Universal Time, also known as Zulu time. When the clocks are turned ahead an hour on March 8, the Eastern time zone will be four hours behind Zulu time, and will remain that way until daylight saving time ends in early November.

This question and answer were provided by the aviation experts in AOPA's Pilot Information Center. Did you know that student pilots who join AOPA are three times more likely to complete their flight training? Membership includes unlimited access to aviation information by phone (800-USA-AOPA, weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern time) or from AOPA Online.
