The European Business Aviation Association and the National Business Aviation Association have canceled the 2021 European Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition, citing continuing health and safety concerns caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
The two organizations said virtual programming would be presented during the period when EBACE2021 would have taken place in Geneva, Switzerland, from May 18 to 20. In a February 4 news release, the two groups said they would seek additional opportunities to promote excellence in business aviation.
“This continues to be a very challenging situation, and the health and well-being of our attendees and exhibitors remains our highest priority,” said NBAA President Ed Bolen.
Although vaccination programs have ramped up, organizers are still in uncharted waters, noted EBAA Secretary-General Athar Husain Khan. “We felt that, in May 2021, the safety of our exhibitors and attendees could not be guaranteed in the traditional EBACE format,” Khan said.
The associations said they will provide details about new EBACE programming “that will gather the industry around compelling speakers and valuable content,” and they noted that exhibitors who had already signed up to participate in EBACE2021 will be contacted by the event’s organizers soon.
