Daher unveils new Kodiak

The aircraft builds on the Kodiak 100, which entered service in 2007, and the Kodiak 100 Series II, which debuted in 2018.

Daher selected Garmin’s GWX 75 weather radar, G1000 NXi integrated flight deck, GTX 345 ADS-B, and GFC 700 autopilot, which comes with envelope protection and a level mode, to enhance flight safety and situational awareness for pilots. The lineup also includes SurfaceWatch runway monitoring technology, ChartView, and synthetic vision.

For backcountry operations, the aircraft can be equipped with 29-inch tires. The company increased the Kodiak’s landing weight to 7,255 pounds and decreased the zero-fuel weight to give operators more payload.

The aircraft is powered by the Pratt & Whitney PT6A-34 turboprop and features club seating for eight in the cabin, along with air conditioning controls for the cockpit and cabin.

“With these latest upgrades and quality improvements, the most modern, rugged, and reliable aircraft in its class is now even better with the Kodiak 100 Series III,” said Nicolas Chabbert, senior vice president of Daher’s Aircraft Division, and CEO of Kodiak Aircraft. “This latest version underscores Daher’s commitment to continual improvement for its airplane family, and further aligns the Kodiak’s attributes with those of our TBM very fast turboprop aircraft.”

The company delivered the first Kodiak Series III to a customer in Sandpoint, Idaho, on March 29 and plans to soon deliver a second aircraft to another customer.

Daher acquired Quest Aircraft Co., maker of the Kodiak, and its Sandpoint manufacturing facility in 2019.
