Daher anticipates increased aircraft deliveries in 2024

Kodiak production upgrades in Idaho

Nicolas Chabbert, senior vice president of Daher’s Aircraft Division, said during the 2024 Sun ‘n Fun Aerospace Expo that Daher shipped the same number of aircraft in 2023 as in 2022—about 75 TBM and Kodiak aircraft.

Although the company was expecting to take advantage of growth in the industry, supply chain issues (both internal and external) prevented an increase in aircraft production output.

Facing a two-year order backlog for the Kodiak, Daher recently rearranged and enhanced its production line in Sandpoint, Idaho, to create a second final assembly line for its Kodiak 100 and 900 models. Daher now expects to deliver more than 25 Kodiaks in 2024—up from 18 in 2023—and more than 60 TBMs in its Tarbes, France, production facility, compared to 56 in 2023.

The 2024 model year TBM 960 aircraft sport a new paint scheme, along with an assortment of technology advances intended to reduce pilot workload and enhance pilot awareness, such as 3D taxi routing, additional spoken alert messages, and automatic activation of its HomeSafe emergency landing system if the aircraft senses pilot inactivity for more than 30 minutes.

All Kodiak 100 Series III aircraft will be equipped with a five-blade Hartzell propeller that reduces noise and weight while also increasing aircraft performance.
