SFO VFR route moratorium

The FAA has placed a temporary moratorium on certain VFR operations through the San Francisco Class B airspace. That following a reported "near miss" between a DC-10 departing San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and a general aviation aircraft. The moratorium includes the popular "101 transition" that permitted VFR pilots to pass through the Class B west of SFO, following the 101 freeway.

AOPA is working with the FAA to resolve any safety issues and restore VFR transitions through the Class B.
