Answers for Pilots: The AOPA Flying Club initiative
Part of the new AOPA Center to Advance the Pilot Community, the AOPA Flying Club initiative is the result of a year's worth of research
One of the big news items at AOPA Aviation Summit this year will be the unveiling of the AOPA Flying Club initiative. Part of the new AOPA Center to Advance the Pilot Community, this is the result of extensive research involving flying club members, leaders, and non-members across the country. Over 400 flying clubs and 800 individual pilots participated in the research.
The main session is scheduled from 12:00 pm – 1:15 pm on Friday, October 12 and is open to all. It will share data from the research and details of how AOPA plans to support and grow the community of flying clubs. An online “Club Finder” will also be unveiled, to help people find a flying club in their local area. The informational session will be followed by a social meeting primarily for flying club leaders to talk with each other about how their clubs operate and to share ideas and information.
