Hartzell Propeller has installed its newest composite props on Team AeroDynamix aircraft and will sponsor the 12-airplane formation group for the next five years.
Team AeroDynamix flies the Van’s Aircraft RV series of Experimental-category kit airplanes, and most of the group’s pilots built their own airplanes.
“The kit/amateur-built market is a great fit for us because they push the envelope, they fly hard, and they demand better design and better technology,” said Hartzell President Joe Brown. “Team AeroDynamix demonstrates how capable amateur-built aircraft can be.”
Team AeroDynamix members fly two-seat RV-4s, RV-6s, RV-7s, and RV-8s, and engines range from 180 to 260 horsepower. All of them now have new Hartzell props customized for each airplane.
Team AeroDynamix founder and lead pilot Mike “Kahuna” Stewart said the team is glad to be affiliated with Hartzell, a family-owned company based in Piqua, Ohio, whose motto is “Built on honor.”
“Our team is a big family,” he said, “and Hartzell is a family company.”
Stewart said the team will showcase Hartzell technology at airshows throughout North America.
