Flying Musicians to appear at Wright anniversary celebration

The Flying Musicians Association will promote the connection between aviation and music at the upcoming 110th anniversary of powered flight in North Carolina.

FMA will provide music, staff, and an information booth, and discuss why nearly 50 percent of pilots are musicians during the event, which takes place Dec. 16 and 17 in Kitty Hawk.

The organization’s members seek to share their passion “in order to inspire, educate, and encourage others by creating enthusiasm and promoting personal growth in aviation and music.” FMA has appeared at numerous aviation events, including AOPA Aviation Summit and EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wis.

FMA President and CEO John Zapp said the chance to participate in the anniversary of powered flight celebration “is a dream come true. FMA has made great strides over the last four years, working hard to establish a foothold in the aviation industry to secure support for our outreach to students.”
