Dallas-Fort Worth Class B airspace changing

Pilots are being reminded to plan accordingly for a modified Dallas-Fort Worth Class B airspace area that will go into effect on March 6. The changes will align with the Dallas-Fort Worth terminal and sectional chart cycles.

AOPA had previously submitted comments to the FAA expressing concern with the modification, including lowering the Class B floor over Addison Airport that compresses an already confined airspace area.

Under the new design, the Class B airspace floor above Addison Airport will be 2,500 feet msl. The modification lowers the floor in four areas, redefines the northern boundary, and incorporates an exclusion of a small area of airspace within the Class B surface area.
