Jeppesen to supply Purdue with training materials

Jeppesen will supply Purdue University aviation program students with professional pilot training kits as part of an agreement announced April 23 at the Sun 'n Fun International Fly-In and Expo in Lakeland, Florida.

The agreement includes the customized bundle of training materials as well as discounted subscriptions on Jeppesen navigation information and charts for Purdue’s student pilots.

“The Purdue University aviation department is a leading university-based program that is helping to meet the growing demand for pilots around the world,” said Reggie Arsenault, director of Jeppesen General Aviation Client Management, in a media release. “We are pleased to team with Purdue to provide their student pilots with essential learning materials that work to enhance student retention rates and increase proficiency rates for the next generation of professional pilots.”

The kit includes textbook materials for private, commercial, and instrument training and other training resources. Student pilots in the Purdue aviation program also will have access to Jeppesen’s pilot training materials and navigation data through a specialized Web-based portal designed for them.

In a press release, John Wensveen, head of Aviation Technology at Purdue, said using the Jeppesen materials will help students prepare for their careers by using the same solutions that many airlines and operators use.
