Eclectic music, Southern-style barbecue, and an aerobatic routine will open the weekend of the AOPA Minneapolis Fly-In at a Barnstormers Party Aug. 21.
The Front Porch Swingin’ Liquor Pigs, whose musical stylings include jug band, blues, folk, country, and a little Irish, will entertain at the Friday-night Barnstormers Party, held at Surfside Seaplane Base from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Enjoy a bonfire and the camaraderie of fellow pilots over award-winning barbecue from Rack Shack BBQ, featured on the television show Man vs. Food.
Plus, don’t miss an aerobatic demonstration by John Klatt in an Extra 300 at 7 p.m. The cost of the Barnstormers Party is $15 when you register in advance or $20 onsite. Reservations are recommended.
Free ground transportation will be provided between the Golden Wings Flying Museum and the seaplane base from 5 to 10 p.m. No automobile parking will be available at Surfside, so please park at Golden Wings and use the free transportation.
