Eastern Regional Manager Sean Collins is working to put together aviation days at state capitols in Vermont and Maine as an opportunity to raise lawmakers’ awareness of general aviation issues and benefits in their states. Collins also planned to support Rusty Pilots seminars at Brunswick Executive Airport and Hancock County-Bar Harbor Airport in Maine and take part in the annual Maine Aviation Forum at the Owls Head Transportation Museum at Knox County Regional Airport. Meanwhile in Maryland, AOPA Director of State Government Affairs Jared Esselman was working to get a tax exemption on aircraft maintenance and parts in the state Senate.
