The company noted in a Jan. 24 news release that the lower priced HTD was “designed for helicopter air ambulance providers, airborne law enforcement, introductory turbine transition training, and ab-initio flight schools.”

Additional aircraft kits can be added to the unit, making it a more versatile training tool.

Special emphasis was made for flight training in inadvertent instrument meteorological conditions—a noted hazard facing crews participating in life-saving helicopter operations at all hours of the day or night.

The Missouri-based Air Evac Lifeteam air ambulance group was announced as the launch customer for the Frasca HTD.

Frasca will roll out the new HTD at Heli-Expo in Las Vegas, Feb. 27 through March 1.
