Question of the Week
|
Question
I used to rent a light sport aircraft through a Part 141 flight school and no longer need to do so. The school has informed me that the FAA has mandated cancellation fees because it is an FAA-certified school. The amount seems excessive, and I have not encountered this issue when renting from other companies. I have not found information about such fees on the FAA website. How should I proceed? |
| Answer |
One pilot suggested asking the school to identify the FAA regulation mandating those fees, checking with the local flight standards district office to verify the fees, and consulting an attorney. Consultations with attorneys who are well versed in aviation law are among the benefits available through AOPA's Pilot Protection Services. Join the discussion >
