AOPA will present its first fly-in of 2023 in coordination with the Buckeye Air Fair February 17 through 19 at Buckeye Municipal Airport (BXK) in Arizona. Located just 35 miles from Phoenix, Buckeye is a fast-growing area, and its annual airshow is highly anticipated. The exciting show draws more than 30,000 visitors for the weekend each year. AOPA will join the airshow with seminars, exhibitors, and informative presentations from senior staff.

The event will feature a full exhibit hall with more than 40 exhibit booths; a static aircraft display including military airplanes; and three seminar venues including the best in our industry, safety, and You Can Fly seminars. There will be a Rusty Pilots seminar as well as a Pilot Town Hall featuring AOPA President Mark Baker. A members-only flight line chalet will offer prime viewing for the two-day airshow and a way to get out of the sun and relax. Friday is Learn to Fly day, and the AOPA You Can Fly team will host seminars specifically directed toward youth and learning to fly. Airshow hours are: Friday, special closed viewing of the show practice open exclusively to AOPA members, starting at 4:30 p.m.; Saturday 2:30 to 5 p.m.; and Sunday 1:30 to 4 p.m.

AOPA is joining forces with airshow events around the country for its 2023 slate of fly-ins. “We are joining established airshows to partner what we do best—aviation—with what they do best—put on an airshow,” said Elizabeth O’Connell, AOPA director of outreach and events. “Members told us they want to see more aerial acts, so we will provide the basics you’ve come to expect—aviation, safety, and industry—with the excitement of a local airshow.”

Plans are underway to join the Triple Tree Aerodrome in Woodruff, South Carolina in September. The AOPA Oasis at Triple Tree is scheduled for September 18 to 24. Also in September is an AOPA Aviator Showcase at our headquarters in Frederick, Maryland. A best-in-the-industry exclusive event, the showcase features in-person buying experiences with general aviation’s leading experts at our home airport. Stay tuned and check the website for upcoming events.
