Cirrus owners whose aircraft are flying with Avidyne Entegra avionics will be able to upgrade their panels via a supplemental type certificate from Avidyne Corp. that the company said is in the final stages of consideration at the FAA.

When approved, the STC for the Vantage 12 system will be available to some 4,000 aircraft in the fleet, and it comes as a kit that will be easy to install, Avidyne said. The company announced the progress of the STC March 19 at the Aircraft Electronics Association’s annual event in Dallas.

The standard configuration will include two 12-inch displays, a single air data computer, a single magnetometer, the AMX240 audio panel, the IFD540 FMS/GPS/nav/com or IFD440 WAAS GPS/nav/com, a DFC90 digital autopilot, and a transponder. Options include a second air data computer and a second magnetometer.

The kit price will include adapter harnesses and pre-cut panels and overlays to simplify installation and reduce the amount of time and labor needed to get the system operational.

Once certification is complete, Avidyne will be ready to deliver kits by the end of 2024, Sales Director for Latin America Juan Blaha told AOPA. Retail price for the kit is in the range of $40,000 when trading in an existing core; that price does not include installation.
