If you’ve seen a movie with aerial footage or an aircraft in flight, chances are Craig Hosking was involved. One of Hollywood's most experienced precision pilots, Hosking has served as a pilot or aerial coordinator in more than 100 titles, and as an actor—playing who else but a pilot, sometimes starring as himself—in 29 movies and TV series since 1988, according to the IMDb.
He’ll bring the excitement of Hollywood and the demands of precision flying to life during AOPA Aviation Summit in Palm Springs, Calif., Oct. 11 through 13.
Hosking will show clips from some of his film and TV flying during a presentation at noon on Oct. 13 at the East Lawn Community Area outside the Palm Springs Convention Center. Hosking’s tales and insights will be sure to entertain as he “has independently created action sequences as well as artistically beautiful images on The Aviator, The Dark Knight, Indiana Jones 4, Clear and Present Danger, Jurassic Park 3, Executive Decision, Miami Vice, Space Cowboys, Alaska, The General’s Daughter, Sum of All Fears and many others,” according to his website, Hosking Aviation.
He’ll be available to chat earlier on Saturday, from 8:30 to 10 a.m. during the Aviators Breakfast; cost for the sit-down breakfast and event that will feature pilots from all segments of aviation is $50 per person.
